Velvet Revolver have postponed their Australian tour citing health reasons and are offering fans a refund. The band were to have started their Australian gigs on December 4th.

In Japan, they were forced to pull their dates when immigration officials refused their visa requests based on their criminal background. Particularly Weiland, who has had a long battle with drug abuse problems.

Neither the band’s record label Sony BMG nor their Australian promoters KMW productions were able to explain the sudden change of plans with the band’s spokesperson saying they would not go into details about the band’s health problems.

Richard Fleeshman has announced a UK tour following the recent release of his much anticipated debut single ‘Coming Down’.

Richard’s sound is pure singer/songwriter. He first came to the public’s attention as a singer when he won ITV’s Soapstar Superstar back in 2006.

One of the most influential bands around, Supergrass will release their energetic and exhilarating new single ‘Diamond Hoo Ha Man’ on January 18th, 2008. Supergrass Popular Albums

The song is an example of what is to come when they release their album in March 2008. The album was recorded in Berlin at the legendary Hansa studios and it was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs)

The song, with its wide eyed vocals, bombastic bassline and frenetic guitars was first performed when Supergrass accompanied The Arctic Monkeys on their summer stadium tour and it had the crowd chanting for more.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Oxfam’s seasonal cards, a Christmas card designed by John Lennon has been reprinted.

The Fat Budgie, a yellow card depicting a bird was first available as an Oxfam card in 1965, when the Beatles were at the height of their musical careers. It is being sold as a limited edition along with one of the first ever Oxfam Christmas card designs titled A Robin.

Oxfam’s Christmas cards have raised over 56 million pounds over the last 50 years, helping to fund Oxfam projects in Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo and Afghanistan.

Yoko Ono, who gave the permission to re-print the cards, has already ordered for 200 cards to be sent to family and friends.

‘A Guy Like You’ is a new single from Alison Moyet’s critically acclaimed new album ‘The Turn’.

The song is produced by Pete Glenister, Alison’s long term collaborate. It appears as a bonus truck on ‘The Turn’ and the single version is a radio mix by Jeremy Wheatley. The single release will come with two remixes, The Almighty Anthem Club Mix and The Soul Avengerz mix.

Coinciding with the single’s release Alison Moyet will be appearing on The Graham Norton Show and The One Show, with more appearances to be announced.

Crowded House have a big new single ‘Pour le monde’ off their current album ‘Time on Earth’. The jam has been remixed by their long time associate Bob Clearmountain.

Back from an Australian tour where they played more than 100,000 people, Crowded House finally return to the UK as their world tour hits Europe in November and December.

They will play at the Bournemouth International Center on 6th December, Brighton Center on 7th December, Wembley Arena on Sunday 9th December and The Albert Hall on Tuesday, 11th December.

Two of California’s most cutting edge DJs, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist have outdone themselves this time coming up with a new all 45 show titled The Hard Sell. The Hard Sell incorporates eight turntables and two guitar loop pedals, allowing tricks and complexity rarely attempted by two DJs.

As with their now legendary previous works “Brainfreeze” (1999) and “Product Placement” (2001), the pair prefers material from all eras and styles to their own music providing for amusing and provocative mash ups, rap mixes and fiddle music and everything in between, all while avoiding stuff you’ve heard from DJs time and again.

The Hard Sell was last performed at the Hollywood Bowl in front of a 15,000 strong crowd. This shows you it’s going to be special when they come to the London Roundhouse on March 13, 2007.

They’re back. Girl power returned on Sunday as the Spice Girls kicked off their forever awaited world reunion tour with a more modern, more sophisticated look.

Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty and Scary opened their show with a sold out audience of more than 15,000 in Vancouver performing three of their big hits.

They opening also included video images of their history and among the show goers were Posh’s superstar footballer husband David Beckham and singer Avril Lavigne.

For the next three months, the quintet will tour Canada, the USA and Europe and maybe shows will be added to include South Africa and South America.

The Spice Girls ruled the music world in the late 1990s with catchy songs and the girl power slogan that made them a pop phenomenon to rival The Beatles.

At the Vancouver show, the women performed in outfits designed by Roberto Cavalli and were backed by ten male dancers.

To help celebrate their homecoming show at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Maximo Park have been asked to rebrand the Newcastle Brown Ale label, to be made available up and down the country.

The Tyneside brewery asked the band if they wished to design their own label which will appear on tens of thousands of bottles of the brown stuff. The band are reportedly chuffed, amused an honoured at being asked to add their own touch to the iconic Newcastle ale makers famous product.

The girls Aloud rumour mill is in overdrive at the moment with gossip rife that Nadine Coyle is set to marry actor Jesse Metcalfe. However, there’s no hard evidence, but the word of an alleged ‘spy’ in the camp revealing seeing the Irish pop poppet flashing a new ring to her bandmates. Its not even known which finger the ring was on.

Desperate Housewives actor, Metcalf, has had a troubled year with a stint in rehab to address a booze consumption problem. Maybe planning a wedding will aid his year ending on a sweeter note. Or maybe the story is a load of tosh! A bit of a non story really.
